Suwannee River Wilderness TrailWe are pleased to announce our partnership with Florida's Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, which is providing nature-based recreation in the Suwannee River Basin. The Suwannee River Wilderness Trail runs 169 miles from White Springs, Florida to the Gulf of Mexico and offers activities such as canoeing, camping, boating, hiking, biking, birding, and horseback riding. Creating a public/private Partnership in FloridaThe Wilderness Trail is a cooperative effort of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP); the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD); and the counties, cities, and businesses of the Suwannee River Basin. A system of hubs on the river are in place and spaced approximately a one-day paddle apart. Proposed "river camps" are under construction and will be complete in the near future. Packages are now available for a variety of venues along the river, from a half-day paddle to multiple day trips. Rustic cabins, primitive or developed camping areas, and private sector lodging are available at "hubs."
